Contemporary Resort Construction Photos from Walt Disney World
I’ve got some photos of the Contemporary Resort construction from 1970 and 1971.
There are a few shots of the room models and the rooms being built at the US Steel fabrication center before being trucked three miles to the construction site. There are some great images of the main tower, the elevator shaft and the garden wings under construction. Some of the photos even have glimpses of the Magic Kingdom under construction. It’s hard to imagine the amount of work that Disney did to get this entire project off the ground, including the modular construction of the Contemporary Resort and Polynesian Resort Village.
Don’t forget to stop by my YouTube channel to subscribe and leave a comment! I post weekly videos about Disney, Dollywood, Carowinds, theme park history, roller coasters and Disney books.
